Downtown Kansas City

Downtown Kansas City has transformed into a vibrant entertainment district over the years - With the free KC Streetcar, you can easily travel from the River Market to Union Station, where you’ll find a hub of culture, education, and entertainment. Union Station is a must-see landmark, featuring traveling national exhibits, 3D movies, and interactive experiences at Science City, plus fun activities like escape rooms. Right across the street, the World War II Museum offers an iconic view of downtown, making this area perfect for exploring bars, restaurants, and all that KC has to offer!

The Food Scene (Especially Barbecue)

Kansas City is famous for its barbecue, and you can’t truly experience the city without trying some of the iconic spots like Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que, Gates, or Arthur Bryant’s. But it’s not just about barbecue—our food scene has grown to include everything from farm-to-table eateries and upscale dining in the Crossroads to the taco joints along Southwest Boulevard. If you're a foodie, KC's got a little bit of everything.

KC Sports Culture

KC loves its sports, and the fans here are some of the most passionate you’ll find. Catching a game at Arrowhead Stadium is an experience like no other, with the tailgating and the sea of red for the Chiefs. Baseball fans can’t miss the Royals at Kauffman Stadium, one of the most beautiful ballparks with its iconic outfield fountains. And don’t forget the KC Current—our city's women's soccer team, playing at the brand-new CPKC Stadium, the first purpose-built stadium for a women's team in the world. With their rising success in the NWSL, KC Current games offer an electrifying matchday atmosphere and showcase Kansas City's growing love for soccer.

The Plaza and Westport

The Country Club Plaza is a must-see with its Spanish-inspired architecture, fountains, shopping, and dining. It’s especially beautiful during the holidays when the lights are up. Not too far away is Westport, one of KC’s oldest neighborhoods, with a lively nightlife scene, local shops, and a great mix of restaurants and bars. These areas have a lot of history and a lot of local charm!
